Add this to your dictionary ...

The current economic situation in Zimbabwe is indescribable - and I have been paging through the Oxford dictionary trying to find out what exactly we can call it, and all the names seem inadequate: runaway inflation, skyrocketinginflation, hyperinflation, ... and just as I was logging into blogster, I thought to myself, what does it take to invent, create or come up with a new word? Officially, no country in the world has known such an inflationary environment, and given that even those who went to war never dreamt they would reach these levels, and what is the explanation for this? I don't know, but at least I have coined a new word today, that will probably appear in future dictionaries as:

z-inflation [zee-inflation or zet inflation] (adj): An inflationary environment that goes beyond conceivable limits in a country with relative peace and tranquility [a term coined by Farai Mandaza (b.1978), after Zimbabwe's record breaking 150 000% inflation in 2008].

Somebody tell me what you think?
